2019 - The Search
"RouteLogic originated from questions I got from my customers at my other company OrangeTalent" Niels Callenbach tells us. OrangeTalent is an online marketing agency and software builder. A number of OrangeTalent's clients had grown enormously in a short period of time. This also presented challenges. Orders were increasing enormously and they also had to be delivered. Creating routes was becoming increasingly time-consuming and because customers were not being properly informed, the pressure on customer service was increasing.
"We then started looking for software that could solve this problem. Good software that could create and optimise routes quickly, and communicate correct arrival times to customers properly did not exist. To still help our customers further, we decided to build it ourselves. This is the start of an innovative company: RouteLogic."
2020: Corona
2022: Launching own algorithm
After several years of working on it, we noticed that we kept running into the same problem: the route calculation algorithm. The algorithm was too slow, taking a long time to return a good calculation. It was only possible to calculate routes for five vehicles at a time, and the predicted arrival time differed enormously from practice.
Also, there were now more solutions in the market that claimed to be able to do the same as RouteLogic. For us, this was reason to investigate. In our research, we discovered that all the tools in the market buy their algorithm from a few places in the world. All with the same limitations.
Difference is not created, difference is made. In 2022, we started developing our own algorithm. It took a lot of time and energy, but we succeeded! As a result, we are able to generate routes across the entire fleet within seconds and with an arrival time that is correct in 98% of cases.
2023: Awards
In 2023, we won several awards. We were named start-up of the week by business magazine de Ondernemer. We won the Veluwe Innovation Award for pioneering software product and we won a Laravel Award for best software product. We also won a DIA (Dutch Interactive Award), the highest award in the Netherlands for innovative e-commerce solutions.
